I am incredibly proud and happy to have been a part of a such a large scale project that so many people were able to experience over the last couple months, and which from the start aimed to engage it's audience in a socially responsible way- from the weekend crowds to the many students that were brought through during the weekly tours- bringing attention to blight in the city, telling the history of that place and the people that once were apart of it, while also transforming it into an inspirational, visual narrative, the whole time remaining free and open to the public. It's exactly what I look to do with my work and am pushing to keep moving forward in the direction of large scale public art projects.

just wrapped this project up and had the opening today, worked on two pieces, it is being called the largest exhibition of street art in the American south!

upcoming: Prospect 3 projects

One of my students, Alivia, is collaborating on two projects with me for Prospect 3 in New Orleans.  We are creating pieces about her paper birds to be turned into public installations.  Here's some sketches in the works, stay tuned for more in the coming weeks!

Lifecycle Buidling Center, Atlanta piece finished

Just completed today at the Lifecycle Building Center in Atlanta.

I used spray paint, acrylic paint, and a subtractive process of scraping layers of the old paint on the existing wall away in certain places.

This is what i got to do when I evacuated New Orleans for Hurrican Issac.  On the side of the Lifecycle Building Center, Atlanta.

i put my first piece up in nola. here's some pictures of its various stages, and now in its resting place. she's being ardently guarded by a cross-eyed siamese cat, whos crazy eyes match this old blue house.

if you look closely you can see the outline of where the shoes used to be.

this is an updated of this piece done a year ago. i think its lookin better these days. i cant believe how different the resin looks.
